Career guide for women a finalist in 2012 global
eBook awards
A career guide by
Australian business executive and career specialist, Karen Adamedes has been
named as a finalist in the Careers/Employment category of the Global eBook
Awards for 2012.
"Hot Tips For Career
Chicks; unlocking the CODE to success" provides unique insights into the
subtleties and nuances of work-place culture. The framework for the book is a
four-step CODE to success - good Communication, a defined Operating Style,
proactive career Development and prioritizing Everything else.
Although applicable
to anyone developing a career, "Hot Tips for Career Chicks"
is aimed at providing practical advice as well as insights into what works and
why in the world of business, specifically for women. There are over 200
practical and easy-to-implement tips to develop confidence and control over a
career and the direction that it is headed.
Topics include how
to develop the skills to negotiate remuneration, get the job you want,
prioritize what's important and know when to move on.
Author, Karen
Adamedes believes that one of the reasons why women are not adequately
represented in the senior ranks of business is a value equation. "When
women do not get the money, recognition, promotion or even the feeling of being
valued, that they want from their career, or see others achieving, they decide
that they are simply not getting a good return on their efforts. Understanding
how the business environment works, and how to work within it, is crucial to
achieving career satisfaction and making the equation more rewarding.
Karen's career
advice has been featured on the pages of major magazines and newspapers and her
articles appear regularly in international publications.
The winners of the
2012 Global eBook Awards will be announced in Santa Barbara, California on
August 18.
In the meantime
Karen is working on another career book for men and women, a quick reference guide
for tricky and everyday situations at work and is building an online go-to
